Student Support Services
Student Support Services provides participants with academic and support services
in a caring environment that seeks to ensure their successful completion of a baccalaureate
degree at Union Commonwealth University.
Student Support Services (SSS) is a comprehensive program designed to promote retention
and academic success in college. These services are FREE to all participants and include
all services listed below.
Student Support Services (SSS) is located in the Sharp Academic Center, first floor.
The Academic Resource Center is located in Sharp Academic Center, first floor, room 3106 & 3110.
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00.
Walk-ins and appointments are both available.

Some services that SSS offers include:
- Tutoring (including writing and study skills). SSS provides Twenty-one peer tutors in all academic areas.
- Academic and career counseling
- Quiet study space
- Informational workshops on time management, study skills, financial literacy and more
- Laptop checkout
- Book Resource Room
- Career planning - including resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and all other career necessities
- Graduate school preparation and assistance in applying for admission
- Grant aid

**Student Support Services is a federally funded TRIO program. The grant is made possible by the United States Department of Education. The SSS program at Union Commonwealth University serves students who are first-generation, underserved, disabled or a combination of the three.
